Genus Power reported a blockbuster Q1 FY26 with standalone revenue of Rs. 942 crores, up 128% YoY from Rs. 414 crores. EBITDA more than tripled to Rs. 199 crores with margins expanding 590 bps to 21.2%, while PAT surged over threefold to Rs. 128 crores (margin 13.6%). The company installed 16 lakh smart meters in the quarter (cumulative 45 lakh), with 21 lakh meters already in operational go-live status generating O&M revenue. Order book stands at approximately Rs. 29,321 crores, of which 80% flows back to Genus across 8-10 year concessions. Management retained FY26 guidance of Rs. 4,000+ crores revenue and 18% EBITDA margin, with installation targets of 80-90 lakh meters for FY26 and 1.1-1.2 crore for FY27. Working capital cycles are improving (debtor days down from 195-205 to 120-130), and management expects to be operating cash flow positive by FY26 itself. New Tamil Nadu tender (3 crore meters) has been bid, with decisions expected in 3-4 months.
Strong Q1 execution, robust order book visibility, and margin guidance retainment with potential upward revision post-Q2 are positive signals for shareholders. However, elevated working capital intensity remains a near-term watchpoint, though management indicated meaningful improvement as more projects achieve operational status.
