GHCL Limited's board approved audited standalone and consolidated financial results for Q4 and FY ended March 31, 2025. Standalone revenue from operations fell to Rs 3,183.48 crore from Rs 3,446.54 crore in FY24, a decline of about 7.6%. However, profit before tax (before exceptional items) rose to Rs 838.15 crore from Rs 771.82 crore, indicating margin expansion driven by lower raw material and power costs. Net profit for FY25 stood at Rs 626.23 crore vs Rs 793.55 crore in FY24, where the prior year included a one-time exceptional gain of Rs 219.29 crore from the demerger of the spinning division. Q4FY25 net profit grew 22% YoY to Rs 152.62 crore. The board proposed a dividend of Rs 12 per equity share. Total debt is Rs 96.86 crore with no defaults, and the auditor S.R. Batliboi & Co LLP issued an unmodified opinion.
Despite the topline decline, underlying profitability improved with no debt stress, a healthy dividend, and continued capex (capital work-in-progress jumped to Rs 255.61 crore from Rs 54.82 crore). The mining lease reduction and Supreme Court tax ruling are watch-items, but the company sees no significant impact currently. Overall, neutral to mildly positive for shareholders given margin resilience.
