Consolidated PAT fell to Rs 946.53 lakhs from Rs 2,672.12 lakhs in the previous year. Standalone revenue from operations decreased to Rs 39,629.27 lakhs from Rs 41,275.46 lakhs, while consolidated revenue declined to Rs 43,087.25 lakhs from Rs 44,317.89 lakhs. The Tea segment reported a significant loss of Rs 1,911.26 lakhs in Q4 standalone operations. The board recommended dividend on 7.75% Cumulative Redeemable Preference Shares for FY 2018-19 and 2019-20. The auditors issued an unqualified opinion on both standalone and consolidated financial statements.
The sharp decline in profitability, with PAT falling over 60% on consolidated basis, is negative for equity shareholders. The Tea segment's losses and revenue decline indicate operational challenges that may weigh on the stock price.
