Glance Finance Ltd reported Q1 FY26 results with total income of Rs. 328.16 lacs, down from Rs. 352.08 lacs in Q1 FY25 (a decline of about 7%). Net profit after tax fell sharply to Rs. 19.80 lacs versus Rs. 91.40 lacs in the same quarter last year, a drop of roughly 78%. Finance costs increased to Rs. 10.30 lacs from Rs. 16.87 lacs previously, while employee benefit expenses rose marginally. Other Comprehensive Income included a large fair-value gain of Rs. 608.01 lacs on investments, lifting Total Comprehensive Income to Rs. 592.05 lacs. The statutory auditor M/s. JMT & Associates issued a qualified limited review report, flagging that gratuity and leave encashment provisions were made on an estimated basis rather than actuarial valuation as required under Ind AS 19, with the impact on profit and loss unascertainable. The company also noted that financial income has fallen below 50% of total income, though it intends to restore NBFC-qualifying activity during the year.
Sharply lower core profitability (PAT down ~78% YoY) and a qualified auditor opinion on employee benefit provisioning are negatives for investor confidence. The large fair-value gain in OCI cushions the headline bottom line but is non-operating and volatile.
