Goa Carbon Limited reported FY2026 results with total income of Rs.70,880 lakhs, up 36% from Rs.51,984 lakhs in FY2025, driven by higher sale of products (net) of Rs.59,809 lakhs vs Rs.50,801 lakhs. However, the company reported a significantly larger net loss of Rs.4,823 lakhs compared to Rs.2,203 lakhs in the prior year, primarily due to increased finance costs (Rs.2,339 lakhs vs Rs.1,805 lakhs) and higher raw material costs. Loss before tax stood at Rs.4,212 lakhs. Cash and cash equivalents declined sharply from Rs.10,741 lakhs to Rs.3,952 lakhs, while borrowings were reduced from Rs.28,136 lakhs to Rs.18,740 lakhs. No dividend was declared due to the loss. Statutory auditors B S R & Co. LLP issued an Unmodified Opinion. Plants underwent scheduled maintenance shutdowns (Goa: 82 days, Bilaspur: 90 days, Paradip: 10 days). The company also faced ongoing Goa Green Cess litigation.
Despite revenue growth of 36%, the company posted a wider net loss due to higher finance and material costs. The significant reduction in cash reserves and ongoing litigation risk are concerns for investors, though debt levels have declined.
