On the reaction day the stock moved 5.1 pts more than Nifty 100 and 4.8 pts more than its Personal Care peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Consolidated September-quarter revenue rose 4.3% to Rs 3,825.09 crore, but profit after tax fell 6.5% to Rs 459.34 crore. Half-year revenue rose 7.0% to Rs 7,486.95 crore, while profit fell 3.2% to Rs 911.79 crore. Operating margin declined to 19.3% from 20.8%. Exceptional charges of Rs 29.66 crore included US hair-product litigation, a Ghana tax settlement and restructuring. The auditors' limited review was not qualified. An interim dividend of Rs 5 per share was declared; the record date is November 7.
Revenue growth and dividend support sentiment, but lower profit and margin may weigh on the stock; litigation and restructuring charges add risk.
