Goodyear India reported Q1 FY27 revenue of Rs 77,435 lakhs, up about 18% YoY from Rs 65,622 lakhs. However, profit after tax fell sharply to Rs 651 lakhs from Rs 1,411 lakhs, a decline of around 54%. The company booked an exceptional gain of Rs 818 lakhs from reversal of past service cost linked to employee benefit remeasurement. Excluding this, profit before exceptional items was just Rs 52 lakhs versus Rs 1,896 lakhs a year ago, pointing to heavy margin compression. EPS stood at Rs 2.82 versus Rs 6.12.
Sharp profit decline and thin margins despite revenue growth may weigh on sentiment; exceptional gain only partly masks weak core earnings.
