Goodyear India reported Q1 FY26 revenue from operations of Rs. 65,622 lakhs, down about 5% from Rs. 69,138 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Profit before tax fell sharply to Rs. 1,896 lakhs from Rs. 3,345 lakhs, a drop of roughly 43%, while profit after tax (PAT) declined to Rs. 1,411 lakhs from Rs. 2,503 lakhs. Earnings per share stood at Rs. 6.12 compared to Rs. 10.85 in Q1 FY25. Sequentially, both revenue and profit improved over the March 2025 quarter. The statutory auditor Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications or emphasis of matter. Total expenses of Rs. 64,193 lakhs were only modestly lower than a year ago despite weaker revenue, pointing to margin pressure.
The year-on-year drop in both top line and bottom line suggests demand softness or pricing pressure in the Indian tyre market, which may weigh on investor sentiment despite the sequential recovery. Watch for margin trends in coming quarters to see if profitability normalises.
