Gopal Snacks reported revenue from operations of ₹3,221.70 million for Q1 FY26, down about 7.8% from ₹3,494.83 million in Q1 FY25. Profit before exceptional items and tax fell sharply to ₹52.82 million from ₹330.01 million a year ago, indicating significant margin pressure. Net profit stood at ₹25.24 million versus ₹243 million last year, with EPS of ₹0.20 against ₹1.95. The company booked a small exceptional gain of ₹2.23 million from scrap sale linked to the December 2024 fire at its Rajkot plant, which had caused a ₹471.85 million exceptional loss in Q4 FY25. Production has been shifted to Modasa, Nagpur and a new temporary facility in Gondal as the Rajkot I plant remains shut. The statutory auditor, Maheshwari & Co., issued an unmodified (clean) limited review opinion.
Despite a clean audit, the sharp YoY drop in both revenue and profits is a negative signal for short-term investor sentiment. However, insurance recovery from the Rajkot fire and ramped-up production at alternate facilities could support recovery in coming quarters.
