Gravita India reported strong full-year results with standalone revenue of Rs. 3,481 Crores (up 8% YoY) and PAT of Rs. 267 Crores (up 37.5% YoY from Rs. 194 Crores). Consolidated PAT came in at Rs. 378 Crores. The company acquired 98.95% stake in Rashtriya Metal Industries for Rs. 559 Crores to expand into copper products. It approved setting up a new copper recycling plant in Gujarat with Rs. 160 Crores capex. The internal auditor was changed from PwC to Deloitte. Operating cash flow turned negative at Rs. 7.82 Crores versus positive Rs. 168 Crores in prior year due to higher working capital from inventory buildup and receivables growth. Cash reserves fell sharply from Rs. 52 Crores to Rs. 3.4 Crores while borrowings increased to Rs. 333 Crores.
The company delivered robust profit growth and margin expansion, but the negative operating cash flow and sharp reduction in cash reserves raise concerns about working capital management. The Rs. 160 Crores capex plan and new acquisition may add further pressure on the balance sheet in the near term.
