Greenlam Industries reported its Q1 FY26 results. On a standalone basis, revenue from operations rose to ₹557.48 Cr from ₹525.75 Cr a year ago (~6% growth), with profit after tax at ₹24.71 Cr versus ₹23.23 Cr. EPS stood at ₹0.97. On a consolidated basis, revenue grew to ₹673.79 Cr from ₹604.71 Cr (~11% growth), but the company slipped into a loss of ₹15.71 Cr compared to a profit of ₹19.89 Cr in the same quarter last year. The loss was largely driven by an unrealized foreign exchange loss of ₹18.77 Cr on a Euro-denominated external commercial borrowing for the Chipboard project, due to adverse Euro-INR movement. The new Panel & Allied Products (Chipboard) segment also reported a loss of ₹34.17 Cr. The statutory auditor (S S Kothari Mehta & Co.) issued an unqualified limited review report on both standalone and consolidated results.
Standalone performance remained stable with modest growth, but the consolidated swing into a loss—caused mainly by forex and early-stage Chipboard losses—could weigh on short-term investor sentiment despite the underlying Laminates business performing well. Watch for clarity on Chipboard ramp-up and ECB hedging going forward.
