Greenpanel Industries has been slapped with an environment compensation of Rs. 34,87,500 (about Rs. 34.88 lakhs) by the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board (UKPCB). The penalty relates to exceedance of discharge and emission standards at the company's units located in the Integrated Industrial Estate (IIE) Pantnagar, Rudrapur, which falls in a critically polluted area. The order was received on May 3, 2025. The company, along with other industries in the area, has already filed a representation through the SIDCUL Entrepreneur Welfare Society, contesting the methodology used to calculate the compensation and seeking a detailed breakup. Greenpanel has stated that the maximum financial impact is limited to the compensation amount itself.
