GSB Finance Ltd reported Q1 FY26 revenue from operations of ₹31.14 lakh, a sharp jump from ₹2.43 lakh in the year-ago quarter. However, profit after tax fell to ₹10.98 lakh from ₹17.29 lakh a year earlier, as total expenses rose to ₹16.31 lakh (vs ₹9.07 lakh), driven by higher employee costs (₹9.28 lakh vs ₹5.40 lakh) and a ₹3.84 lakh impairment on financial instruments. Profit before tax stood at ₹14.83 lakh versus ₹23.36 lakh in Q1 FY25. Basic EPS was ₹0.18 compared to ₹0.29 in the year-ago period. The statutory auditor, Suvarna & Katdare, issued an unmodified (clean) limited review report with no qualifications.
Strong revenue growth signals business expansion, but the ~36% drop in profit despite sharply higher income highlights rising cost pressure that may concern investors. Near-term stock reaction will depend on whether expenses normalise and margins recover in subsequent quarters.
