GNFC posted Q1 FY27 revenue of Rs 2,238 cr (vs Rs 1,601 cr YoY) and PAT of Rs 310 cr (vs Rs 78 cr YoY). YoY figures are not comparable due to an 18-day planned shutdown at Bharuch in Q1 FY26. Q-o-Q revenue rose slightly while PAT fell from Rs 392 cr. Chemical segment drove profits at Rs 425 cr while fertilizer segment posted a loss of Rs 85 cr on higher input costs. Board approved an MOU with GMDC to explore coal-to-chemicals opportunities including underground coal gasification. The disputed DoT demand of Rs 21,370 cr on VSAT and ISP licence fees remains pending with no provision made and was flagged by auditors. Revised energy norms for neem coated urea may add about Rs 61 cr in Q2 FY27.
Strong chemicals segment offsets weak fertilizers; FY27 off to a solid start. DoT dispute and geopolitical risks remain key overhangs.
