Gujarat Cotex Limited reported audited results for FY25 with revenue from operations of ₹2,730.67 lakhs, up about 61.5% from ₹1,690.73 lakhs in FY24, driven mainly by the textile trading segment (₹2,146.74 lakhs). Full-year profit after tax stood at ₹22.73 lakhs versus ₹18.94 lakhs last year, a growth of roughly 20%. However, the standalone Q4 FY25 numbers were weak, with the company slipping into a loss of ₹23.47 lakhs in the quarter compared to a profit of ₹12.28 lakhs in Q4 FY24. The auditor (Pawan Siddharth & Co.) issued an unmodified (clean) opinion. Total assets grew sharply to ₹3,107.90 lakhs from ₹1,364.03 lakhs, with current liabilities also jumping to ₹2,092.16 lakhs largely due to higher trade payables. Other equity remained negative at ₹-26.20 lakhs though better than ₹-48.32 lakhs in the prior year.
Positive annual growth and clean audit support the stock, but the Q4 loss, negative other equity (accumulated losses), and surge in trade payables raise concerns about earnings quality and balance sheet strength. Investors should watch margin trends and whether the loss-making Q4 is a one-off or a sign of pressure going forward.
