Gujarat Cotex reported audited results for FY25 with revenue from operations rising sharply to Rs 2,730.67 lakhs from Rs 1,690.73 lakhs in FY24, a jump of about 61%. Full-year profit after tax grew to Rs 22.73 lakhs from Rs 18.94 lakhs, with EPS of Rs 0.16 vs Rs 0.13. However, the fourth quarter alone was weak, swinging to a loss of Rs 23.47 lakhs from a small profit of Rs 0.61 lakhs in Q4 FY24, hit by higher purchase and employee costs. The company operates in textile trading, NA plot sales, and a hospitality project (construction in progress). Statutory auditor Pawan Siddharth & Co issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on the results.
Strong annual revenue growth is a positive, but the Q4 loss and negative reserves of Rs 26.20 lakhs raise concerns about quarterly cost discipline and overall financial health. Short-term sentiment may be mixed; the clean audit opinion is reassuring but the sharp Q4 reversal warrants caution.
