GMDC posted Q1 FY26-27 standalone total income from operations of Rs 906.64 crore, up about 24% from Rs 732.60 crore YoY. Net profit after tax was Rs 163.01 crore versus Rs 164.13 crore last year, nearly flat. EPS stood at Rs 5.13. Board approved two MoUs: one with GNFC for coal-to-chemicals via Underground Coal Gasification, another with IREL for Rare Earth Elements. Also noted GSPC investment extinguished under a composite scheme, with GMDC receiving Gujarat Energy Limited shares instead.
Strong revenue growth and new diversification into coal gasification and rare earths signal expansion, though flat profit may temper excitement.
