Hamps Bio Limited's board approved audited standalone financial results for the half year and financial year ended March 31, 2025. Revenue from operations rose modestly to ₹666.87 lakhs (from ₹647.52 lakhs in FY24), a growth of about 3%. However, profit after tax fell sharply to ₹29.77 lakhs from ₹50.06 lakhs, a decline of roughly 40%, indicating significant margin compression. The statutory auditor, M/s MGVS & Associates, issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on the results. The company, which got listed on BSE SME in December 2024 via a ₹622.20 lakh IPO, has utilised ₹438.34 lakhs of IPO proceeds (mainly for plant & machinery for its FMCG division), with ₹183.86 lakhs still unutilised and parked in fixed deposits. A new secretarial auditor and internal auditor were also appointed during the meeting.
The sharp fall in profits despite steady revenue growth is a red flag — shareholders should watch for rising costs and check margin trends going forward. On the positive side, the clean audit opinion and ongoing capacity expansion through IPO funds support the company's long-term growth story, but near-term earnings weakness may pressure the stock.
