On the reaction day the stock moved 2.4 pts more than Nifty Smallcap 250 and 2.5 pts more than its Electrodes & Refractories peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
HEG's standalone Q2 revenue was Rs 696.85 crore and profit was Rs 130.86 crore, versus Rs 4.38 crore profit a year earlier. H1 profit reached Rs 202.66 crore. The board approved up to Rs 633 crore of optionally convertible debentures from subsidiary TACC and plans to sell a 26% stake in Texnere. GST notices seek Rs 282.34 crore for each of two years. Auditors found no material misstatement but highlighted two stalled hydro projects.
Strong profit growth is positive, but the proposed GST recovery and large related-party funding commitment add risk and may cap gains.
