Hilltone Software and Gases reported a sharp rise in revenue but swung to a loss in Q2 FY26. Net revenue from operations grew to ₹345.02 lakhs from ₹206.03 lakhs in the same quarter last year, a jump of about 67%. However, total expenses surged to ₹420.00 lakhs versus ₹209.31 lakhs, pushing the company into a net loss of ₹70.86 lakhs compared to a profit of ₹11.48 lakhs in Q2 FY25. The Gases segment continues to drag, posting a segment loss of ₹74.98 lakhs, while the Software segment reported nil revenue during the quarter. For the half year ended September 2025, revenue rose to ₹578.72 lakhs but the company posted a cumulative loss of ₹88.75 lakhs versus a profit of ₹21.11 lakhs last year. The statutory auditor issued an unmodified limited review report with no qualifications or emphasis of matter.
Despite strong top-line growth, sharp cost escalation and the Gases segment's persistent losses have wiped out profitability, which is a negative signal for shareholders. The stock may face pressure as the widening gap between revenue and costs raises concerns about operating efficiency, although the clean audit report offers some reassurance.
