Hilltone Software and Gases Ltd reported Q2 FY26 net revenue of Rs. 345.02 lakhs, up about 67% from Rs. 206.03 lakhs in Q2 FY25, driven entirely by the Gases segment as Software revenue dropped to zero. However, the company swung to a loss after tax of Rs. 70.86 lakhs in Q2 FY26, compared to a profit of Rs. 11.48 lakhs in the same quarter last year. For H1 FY26, revenue rose to Rs. 578.72 lakhs (up from Rs. 410.15 lakhs) but PAT stood at a loss of Rs. 88.75 lakhs versus a profit of Rs. 21.11 lakhs a year ago. The Gases segment posted a segment loss of Rs. 74.98 lakhs in Q2, widening from Rs. 29.77 lakhs loss last year, showing sharp margin compression despite higher sales.
Despite strong top-line growth, deepening losses and negative EPS (Rs. -0.06) signal rising costs and weak operational efficiency, which is a negative signal for shareholders and likely to weigh on the stock. Investors should watch for margin recovery in upcoming quarters.
