On the reaction day the stock moved 3.4 pts more than Nifty Microcap 250 and 3.0 pts more than its Civil Construction peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

HCC's corporate guarantee obligation to associate PRPL has been cut from 100% of outstanding debt to about 571 crore, representing 20% of the principal. This is a reduction of about 3,364 crore. The move is part of HCC's 2022 debt restructuring plan, under which about 2,854 crore of debt was transferred to PRPL. HCC retains 49% equity in PRPL. The liability cut helps de-leverage HCC's balance sheet, supports its investment grade rating, and complements the recently announced Rights Issue.
Sharp cut in contingent liability, aids de-leveraging, credit rating and capital raising. Positive for shareholders.
