Hindustan Media Ventures reported its Q1 FY26 results (quarter ended June 30, 2025) at a board meeting on August 4, 2025. Revenue from operations rose to ₹18,299 lakhs from ₹16,218 lakhs in the same quarter last year, an increase of about 13%. Profit after tax jumped sharply to ₹1,024 lakhs from just ₹52 lakhs a year ago, with EPS rising to ₹1.39 from ₹0.07. The board also approved an investment of up to ₹20.01 crore in BankBazaar (A&A Dukaan Financial Services), a fintech company, by subscribing to equity shares or compulsorily convertible preference shares, with completion expected by September 2025. The statutory auditors issued an unmodified (clean) limited review report on both the standalone and consolidated results. The company also filed an application to strike off its joint venture HT Content Studio LLP, with no expected financial impact.
Q1 FY26 shows a strong recovery in profitability with a nearly 20-fold jump in PAT and a clean audit report, which is positive for shareholders. The ₹20 crore strategic investment in fintech BankBazaar is outside HMVL's core media business and signals a diversification move, but is relatively small in size and not a related-party deal.
