On July 11, 2025, officials including the Additional District Magistrate of Hooghly, along with police and other personnel, forcibly entered Hindustan Motors' factory premises at Uttarpara, Hooghly, and seized control of the facility. The company had filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) with the Supreme Court challenging this action, but the SLP was dismissed on July 16, 2025.
