HPCL shared its audited financial results and investor handout for FY 2024-25. Revenue from operations stood at Rs 4,66,346 crore, with profit after tax of Rs 7,365 crore and EBITDA of Rs 19,022 crore. For Q4 alone, PAT was Rs 3,355 crore on revenue of Rs 1,18,334 crore. GRM (gross refining margin) before export cess was $5.74/bbl for the full year but jumped to $8.44/bbl in Q4, signalling a strong sequential improvement. Refinery throughput was 25.27 MMT with 108.9% capacity utilization, and total sales (domestic plus export) reached 49.82 MMT.
Strong Q4 GRM of $8.44/bbl and healthy capacity utilization are positives, but overall FY GRM of $5.74/bbl remains modest. Debt level of Rs 63,323 crore and Rs 450 crore forex loss are watchpoints; near-term stock reaction may hinge on refining margin sustainability and crude price trends.
