On the reaction day the stock moved 1.0 pts less than Nifty Midcap 150 and 2.1 pts less than its Refineries & Marketing peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
HPCL posted a standalone net loss of Rs 11,526 Cr in Q1 FY27 versus a profit of Rs 4,371 Cr a year ago, even as revenue rose 21 percent to Rs 1.46 lakh Cr. Gross refining margin jumped to USD 23.80 per barrel from USD 3.08. The loss was driven by suppressed marketing margins on petroleum products. LPG compensation of Rs 1,980 Cr was booked. Cumulative unrecognised LPG buffer widened to Rs 16,406 Cr.
Sharp swing to Rs 11,526 Cr loss despite higher GRM, hurt by weak marketing margins. Growing LPG buffer of Rs 16,406 Cr remains a structural overhang.
