Hitachi Energy India reported strong Q1FY26 results with revenue of Rs 1,529.8 crore, up 15.3% year-on-year. Profit after tax surged 1,163% YoY to Rs 131.6 crore, while operating EBITDA grew 176.6% to Rs 170.2 crore, lifting margins to 11.1% from 4.6% a year ago. Orders jumped 365% YoY to Rs 11,339.2 crore, driven by a major HVDC project win (Bhadla-Fatehpur link) and a bulk transformer order from POWERGRID, pushing the order backlog to a record Rs 29,125.3 crore. The company raised Rs 2,520.8 crore via a QIP in March 2025, of which Rs 2,451.7 crore remains unutilized and largely parked in bank deposits. The statutory auditor (S.R. Batliboi & Associates LLP) issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications.
Sharp order wins and backlog growth give strong revenue visibility for coming quarters, while the big jump in profitability and margin expansion signal improving operating leverage. Sequentially though, revenue, PAT and EBITDA all declined 20-28% versus Q4FY25, so investors should watch whether the strong order pipeline translates into sustained sequential growth.
