HP Adhesives reported FY2026 revenue of Rs 24,867 lakhs, essentially flat versus Rs 24,820 lakhs in FY2025. However, PAT declined sharply to Rs 688 lakhs from Rs 1,784 lakhs, a 61% drop due to a major fire incident at Unit I in January 2026. The company recognized an estimated loss of Rs 2,499 lakhs under exceptional items for the fire damage to property, plant, equipment and inventory, with corresponding insurance claim receivable pending final assessment. Additional exceptional items include Rs 311 lakhs GST demand and Rs 43 lakhs labour code impact. The auditor issued an unmodified (clean) opinion. The board recommended a final dividend of Rs 0.40 per share. Cash and bank balances fell significantly from Rs 314 lakhs to Rs 89 lakhs, while other financial assets jumped to Rs 2,694 lakhs largely due to the insurance claim receivable.
The stock may face pressure due to 61% PAT decline and uncertainty around insurance recovery for the Rs 2,499 lakh fire loss. However, the clean audit opinion and dividend announcement provide some support. Investors should monitor insurance claim finalization and Q4 operational recovery.
