HPL Electric & Power Ltd reported FY26 standalone revenue of Rs. 1,85,800 lakhs, up 10.3% from Rs. 1,68,441 lakhs in FY25. However, profit after tax declined 4.3% to Rs. 8,306 lakhs from Rs. 8,680 lakhs. Consolidated revenue was Rs. 1,81,110 lakhs with PAT at Rs. 9,125 lakhs (down 2.9% YoY). The company recognized an exceptional item of Rs. 535.50 lakhs due to new labour codes impact on employee benefits (Rs. 715.50 lakhs) partially offset by Rs. 180 lakhs litigation settlement. Board recommended final dividend of Rs. 1 per share (10%). Total borrowings increased significantly to Rs. 72.92 crore with non-current borrowings jumping from Rs. 2,090 lakhs to Rs. 9,983 lakhs. Statutory auditors issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on both standalone and consolidated results.
The stock may see mixed reaction: positive signals from revenue growth and dividend declaration could be offset by PAT decline and rising debt levels. Investors should monitor margin compression and the sharp increase in borrowings.
