HUDCO reported Q1 FY26 standalone total income of Rs. 2,945.47 crore, up ~34% YoY from Rs. 2,197.19 crore, driven by interest income growth to Rs. 2,924.64 crore. Profit after tax rose ~13% YoY to Rs. 630.23 crore (vs Rs. 557.75 crore), with EPS at Rs. 3.15 vs Rs. 2.79. The Board declared a 1st interim dividend of Rs. 1.15 per share (11.5% on face value of Rs. 10), with record date set as 14 August 2025 and payment within 30 days. The company raised Rs. 5,370 crore through non-convertible debt securities in the quarter and maintained 100% security cover on its secured bonds. Asset quality improved with gross NPA ratio falling to 1.34% (from 2.42%) and net NPA to 0.09% (from 0.33%). However, operating margin compressed to 29.18% (from 31.29%) and CRAR dropped sharply to 41.72% (from 57.65%) with debt-equity rising to 6.61x. The Board also recommended appointing M/s VAP & Associates as Secretarial Auditor for FY26-FY30.
The interim dividend signals strong cash flows and shareholder-friendly intent, while robust revenue growth is positive. However, margin compression, rising finance costs, and a sharp CRAR decline indicate aggressive balance sheet expansion that investors should monitor. Asset quality improvement is a reassuring sign.
