Hubtown Limited reported standalone total income of Rs. 51,017 Lakhs (up 31.7% YoY) with PAT of Rs. 10,922 Lakhs (up 43.1% YoY) and EPS of Rs. 7.81 for FY2026. Consolidated income was Rs. 83,291 Lakhs (up 58.2% YoY) with PAT of Rs. 16,352 Lakhs (up 256.9% YoY) and EPS of Rs. 10.62. However, auditors issued a QUALIFIED OPINION for the 8th consecutive time because the company did not provide for interest expense of Rs. 1,751.85 Lakhs on certain inter-corporate deposits, understating finance costs and overstating profits. The impact reduces reported standalone PAT from Rs. 10,922 Lakhs to Rs. 9,170 Lakhs after adjustment. Management stated it is renegotiating terms/waiver with lenders. The company also appointed new Internal Auditors (Pipara & Co. LLP) and Cost Auditors (Shekhar Joshi & Co.) for FY 2026-27.
The qualified opinion and non-provisioning of Rs. 1,751.85 Lakhs interest expense is a significant concern, as it raises questions about the reliability of reported profits. Shareholders should note the adjusted true profit is lower. However, strong revenue growth of 31.7%/58.2% (standalone/consolidated) and 257% PAT growth on consolidated basis are positives.
