India Gelatine & Chemicals reported a decline in full-year performance for FY25. Revenue from operations fell to Rs 19,852.87 lakhs from Rs 20,583.97 lakhs in FY24, a drop of around 3.5%. Profit after tax more than halved to Rs 1,738.93 lakhs (from Rs 2,838.85 lakhs), with EPS at Rs 24.52 vs Rs 40.03 earlier. The profit before tax margin compressed sharply from about 17.4% to 11%. On a positive note, the company reported strong operating cash flow of Rs 2,101.35 lakhs, reduced its borrowings, and the board recommended a final dividend of Rs 5 per share (50% of face value). Statutory auditor M/s Mahendra N. Shah & Co. issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on the results.
Shareholders will receive a Rs 5 final dividend, but the sharp drop in profitability and revenue decline year-on-year is a negative signal that could weigh on the stock. The clean audit opinion, reduced debt and steady dividend provide some comfort.
