Indian Hume Pipe Company reported FY25 total income of INR 1,500.17 Cr, up 7.4% from INR 1,397.25 Cr in FY24. Net profit surged to INR 558.05 Cr from INR 77.63 Cr, driven primarily by an exceptional gain of INR 545.22 Cr from the sale of freehold land at Yelahanka, Bengaluru to a Godrej Properties subsidiary for INR 559 Cr. Order book grew to INR 4,002.48 Cr from INR 3,698.17 Cr a year ago, with new orders of INR 1,325.37 Cr booked during the year and the company L1 in four projects worth INR 769.43 Cr. The board recommended a total dividend of INR 5.80 per share (290%), including a INR 4 special dividend from land sale proceeds. Capacity expansion at Walwa and Dhule plants (INR 46 Cr capex) added 129,060 MT capacity.
The one-time land sale windfall massively inflates headline profits and funds a generous special dividend, but underlying Q4 operating performance weakened with EBITDA falling to INR 59.10 Cr from INR 77.07 Cr. The growing order book and capacity additions point to a positive medium-term outlook, though shareholders should note that core business margins remain under pressure.
