Indian Hume Pipe Company posted Q3 FY26 revenue from operations of ₹28,206 lakhs, down about 26% from ₹38,062 lakhs in Q3 last year. For the nine months ended December 2025, revenue fell roughly 13% to ₹95,427 lakhs versus ₹1,09,913 lakhs a year ago, reflecting a slowdown in the core construction business. Net profit for the quarter jumped to ₹6,151 lakhs (₹11.67 per share) from ₹1,437 lakhs, but this was largely driven by a one-time gain of ₹6,433 lakhs from the sale of a Hyderabad land parcel to ASBL Private Limited, classified as an exceptional item. Stripping out the land sale, the underlying business performance was weaker, with nine-month pre-exceptional profit before tax rising only modestly. The statutory auditors (K.S. Aiyar & Co.) issued an unmodified limited review report, and no auditor change or restatement was noted.
Headline profits look strong but are flattered by a non-recurring land sale, so the result does not signal a real turnaround in the core construction business. The double-digit revenue decline is a concern and may weigh on the stock, as the underlying earnings power is materially lower than the reported numbers suggest.
