IMFA reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue from operations of ₹641.54 crore, down about 3% from ₹662.28 crore in Q1 FY25, though up 13% sequentially from ₹567.15 crore in Q4 FY25. Standalone profit after tax fell to ₹91.48 crore from ₹112.16 crore a year ago (down ~18% YoY) but nearly doubled from ₹47.07 crore in the previous quarter. EPS for the quarter stood at ₹16.96 versus ₹20.79 in Q1 FY25. The ferro alloys segment remains the main profit driver, while mining and power segments continued to post small losses. The board also noted the retirement of Mr Nalini Ranjan Mohanty as Non-Executive Chairman and approved the appointment of Dr Barada Kanta Mishra as the new Chairman effective July 31, 2025. The auditor, Walker Chandiok & Co LLP, issued an unmodified limited review report on both standalone and consolidated results.
Year-on-year earnings weakness driven by softer ferro alloys realisations and higher power & fuel costs may pressure the stock in the near term, though the strong sequential recovery in profit and stable dividend-paying history offer some comfort. The leadership change at the board level is largely continuity and is unlikely to alter strategy.
