The income-tax appellate body partly allowed Indian Oil's appeal on 23 October 2025. It granted relief of Rs 1,102.91 crore against Rs 1,194.07 crore of disputed tax and interest for assessment year 2016-17. The company will contest the remaining Rs 91.16 crore before the Income-tax Appellate Tribunal.
