IREDA's board approved the allotment of 12,14,66,562 equity shares (face value ₹10) under a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) at ₹165.14 per share, raising ₹2,005.90 crore. The issue price includes a premium of ₹155.14 per share and a 5% discount (₹8.69) on the floor price. The QIP opened on June 5, 2025 and closed on June 10, 2025. As a result, paid-up equity capital increased from ₹2,687.76 crore to ₹2,809.23 crore. Key allottees include Life Insurance Corporation of India (50% of the issue), Morgan Stanley Asia (9.12%), Societe Generale (8.98%), and Vikasa India EIF I Fund (5.13%). The trading window will open 48 hours after the board meeting conclusion.
The QIP raises fresh capital of about ₹2,006 crore, which will strengthen IREDA's lending capacity in the renewable energy sector. However, the share issuance causes dilution for existing shareholders, and the 5% discount to floor price may have been set at a level that modestly weighed on the stock price during the issue window.
