Indus Finance Limited reported a Q3 FY26 net profit of ₹28.60 lakhs, more than doubling from ₹13.21 lakhs in Q3 FY25, helped by lower finance costs (₹39.46 lakhs vs ₹55.22 lakhs) and a fair value gain of ₹11.72 lakhs. However, total income for the quarter fell to ₹137.24 lakhs from ₹150.96 lakhs YoY, with interest income dropping sharply to ₹122.34 lakhs from ₹150.96 lakhs. For the nine-month period, total income declined about 22% to ₹354.32 lakhs (from ₹455.12 lakhs), and net profit fell to ₹54.35 lakhs from ₹99.41 lakhs. The auditor (B.N. Misra & Co) issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications. Basic EPS for the quarter stood at ₹0.31.
Short-term, the sharp jump in quarterly profit may lift sentiment, but the weakening top line across both the quarter and nine-month period points to underlying stress in the core lending business, which is a concern for shareholders.
