Indus Finance Ltd reported its Q1 FY26 results with total income rising to ₹111.91 lakhs from ₹91.67 lakhs in the same quarter last year, a growth of about 22%. Total expenses came in slightly lower at ₹82.48 lakhs versus ₹86.87 lakhs a year ago, mainly due to lower finance costs. Profit before exceptional item and tax jumped sharply to ₹29.43 lakhs (from ₹4.80 lakhs). After accounting for an exceptional item of ₹12.02 lakhs, net profit for the quarter stood at ₹17.41 lakhs, up from ₹4.80 lakhs in Q1 FY25 — a jump of more than 250%. Basic EPS improved to ₹0.19 from ₹0.05. The statutory auditor (B.N. Misra & Co.) issued an unmodified limited review report.
A strong quarter for Indus Finance with both top-line growth and a sharp jump in profits, suggesting improved operating efficiency. Shareholders may view this positively, though the small scale of the company and the presence of an exceptional item warrant close attention to the quality of earnings.
