BASF India Limited reported standalone revenue from operations of Rs 15,162.35 crore for FY25, up about 10% from Rs 13,767.48 crore in FY24. However, profit before tax fell to Rs 669.92 crore from Rs 758.95 crore, and profit after tax declined to Rs 499.20 crore from Rs 563.35 crore. The company booked exceptional items of Rs 36.53 crore (standalone), comprising a Rs 29.28 crore profit on sale of residential properties and a Rs 7.25 crore gain on the transfer of its Coatings Business to a wholly-owned subsidiary on January 1, 2025. Q4 FY25 standalone revenue of Rs 3,189.06 crore was down from Rs 3,359.97 crore a year ago. Net cash from operations dropped sharply to Rs 389.06 crore from Rs 807.24 crore. The board recommended a final dividend of 200% (Rs 20 per share on Rs 10 face value). Post-year-end, BASF India acquired 100% of BASF Agricultural Solutions India Ltd from parent BASF SE for Rs 70, and approved a scheme to demerge its Agricultural Solutions business. Auditor Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP issued an unmodified opinion.
Top-line growth was healthy but profitability and operating cash flows weakened, partly due to a sharp drop in Q4 performance and inventory build-up. Shareholders benefit from the 200% dividend, while the restructuring (Coatings hive-off, Agricultural Solutions acquisition and proposed demerger) signals a strategic portfolio reshape that could affect future comparability of results.
