Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a Government of India defence PSU, has recommended a final dividend of Rs 0.65 per share (face value Rs 5) for FY 2024-25, subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming AGM. This is on top of an interim dividend of Rs 4.00 per share already paid in February 2025, taking total FY25 dividends to Rs 4.65 per share. The company's annual revenue from operations rose to Rs 3,34,505 lakh, up about 41% from Rs 2,36,928 lakh last year, supported by higher sales. However, profit after tax declined to Rs 54,964 lakh from Rs 61,272 lakh, dragged by sharply lower other income (Rs 8,849 lakh vs Rs 36,183 lakh) and a Rs 14,140 lakh provision booked for an onerous defence export contract. EPS for the year came in at Rs 14.99 versus Rs 16.72 in FY24.
Despite the drop in profits, BDL is continuing to reward shareholders with total dividends of Rs 4.65 per share for FY25. Investors should note the profitability dip and the ongoing exposure to the loss-making overseas contract, though revenue growth and order book visibility in defence remain supportive.
