In May 2025, the Commission for Air Quality Management (NCR) had directed Isgec to shut down its factory at Village Nara, Meerut Road, Muzaffarnagar (UP) over alleged air pollution violations. This unit contributes about 3.5% of the company's standalone revenue. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) stepped in on May 30, 2025 and allowed operations to resume conditionally. After Isgec complied with the required conditions and submitted documents, the Commission has now, via its letter dated April 9, 2026, granted full permission to resume operations. The matter stands closed as per the company's intimation dated April 10, 2026.
This is a positive, full resolution for shareholders – the regulatory closure threat on a revenue-contributing unit has been lifted, allowing normal operations to resume with no material financial impact expected. The stock is unlikely to see any negative reaction, and uncertainty around the unit is now removed.
