ICRA has upgraded ITI Limited's long-term credit rating from [ICRA]BB-(Stable) to [ICRA]BB(Stable), while reaffirming the short-term rating at [ICRA]A4. The rating covers total bank limits of Rs. 4,851.69 crore, comprising Rs. 1,450 crore in fund-based cash credit and Rs. 3,401.69 crore in non-fund based facilities. The non-fund based limit was also enhanced beyond the earlier rated amount, reflecting an increase in sanctioned bank facilities. Multiple public sector banks are lenders, including SBI, Bank of Baroda, Indian Bank, Union Bank, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, and Punjab National Bank. The rating action was communicated on August 18, 2025.
This is a positive development for ITI Limited as the rating upgrade suggests ICRA perceives lower credit risk and improved financial profile. Shareholders may view this favorably, though the BB rating still falls in the speculative (non-investment grade) category, indicating ongoing credit concerns. The enhanced non-fund based limits also improve the company's capacity to secure project orders and bank guarantees.
