On the reaction day the stock moved 1.3 pts less than Nifty 100 and 1.2 pts more than its Iron & Steel peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Jindal Steel's Q2 FY27 consolidated gross revenue rose 44% year on year to a record Rs 19,448 crore. Adjusted EBITDA rose 34% to Rs 2,504 crore and profit after tax rose 21% to Rs 771 crore. Steel sales rose 27% to 2.38 million tonnes. Net debt fell to Rs 14,786 crore. The review was unmodified, but Mauritius subsidiary JSML had negative net worth of Rs 1,504 crore and depends on parent support.
Record sales and lower net debt are positive, but profit grew more slowly than revenue, EBITDA margin narrowed and support for JSML adds risk.
