On the reaction day the stock moved 0.2 pts less than Nifty 100 and 1.6 pts more than its Iron & Steel peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Jindal Steel's record Q2FY27 revenue rose 44% to Rs 19,448 crore on 2.38 million tonnes sold. H1 output was 4.79 million tonnes. Adjusted EBITDA rose 34% to Rs 2,504 crore, but profit after tax was Rs 771 crore amid higher coal and freight costs. Management expects Q3 coking coal inflation of US$20-25 per tonne, while cost savings may aid margins. Net debt fell Rs 1,141 crore to Rs 14,786 crore. It declined to disclose exact average selling prices.
Volume growth and cost savings aid earnings, but coal inflation may cap margins. Falling net debt and debt discipline support investor confidence.
