On the reaction day the stock moved 1.6 pts more than Nifty 100 and 1.8 pts more than its Iron & Steel peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Jindal Steel reported Q2FY27 gross revenue of ₹19,448 crore, adjusted EBITDA of ₹2,504 crore and profit after tax of ₹771 crore. Steel production was 2.40 MT and sales 2.38 MT. Higher coking coal, power, fuel and freight costs and weak seasonal TMT demand pressured margins. Net debt fell to ₹14,786 crore, or 1.51 times EBITDA. Capex guidance is ₹7,500 to ₹10,000 crore, with net debt to EBITDA targeted below 1.5 times through the cycle.
Higher volumes and expansion support growth, but coal costs may cap near-term earnings; leverage is near the stated 1.5 times target.
