GST authority in Gujarat has raised a demand of about Rs 2.54 crore on JK Paper (Rs 1.27 crore tax plus Rs 1.27 crore penalty) along with interest, for alleged excess Input Tax Credit claims covering FY 2020-21 to FY 2022-23. The order was passed on September 21, 2026. The company says the demand is unjustified and plans to file an appeal with the Commissioner (Appeals).
Demand plus interest is modest relative to company size; appeal pending, so near-term financial hit limited but outcome remains a watchpoint.
