Josts Engineering Company informed BSE that a recovery notice recently issued against it has been withdrawn by the Karnataka Department of Commercial Taxes. The notice, issued on May 15, 2025, directed HDFC Bank to attach or block the company's bank accounts under Section 79 of the CGST Act, 2017, for an amount of Rs. 50.65 lakhs. Importantly, this demand was not against the company itself but related to alleged tax dues of a third party, M/s. Paladiaon Network Private Limited. Just one day after the original intimation, the Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes formally withdrew the recovery notice on May 16, 2025. The matter has been resolved without any bank account freeze or financial disruption to the company.
Positive for shareholders — the potential bank account attachment risk has been swiftly removed, and the underlying liability was that of a third party, not the company. Minimal impact expected on stock price as the issue was resolved almost immediately.
