JSL Industries reported its Q1 FY26 unaudited results on August 5, 2025. Revenue from operations came in at Rs. 1,219.47 lakhs, down about 12% from Rs. 1,388.47 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Total income fell sharply to Rs. 1,266.38 lakhs from Rs. 1,832.37 lakhs, mainly because the year-ago quarter had unusually high other income of Rs. 443.90 lakhs. Profit after tax dropped to Rs. 39.82 lakhs (EPS Rs. 3.39) versus Rs. 405.02 lakhs (EPS Rs. 34.50) in Q1 FY25. Sequentially, the company swung back to a profit from a Rs. 18.76 lakh loss in Q4 FY25. The company also reclassified its quoted equity investment in Jyoti Limited to a long-term category, booking a Rs. 339.14 lakh gain in other comprehensive income. Board committees were reconstituted with Ms. Pragnya Seth as Audit Committee Chair. The auditor (Talati & Talati LLP) issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications.
The YoY profit collapse looks dramatic but is largely optical, driven by a one-time other-income boost in Q1 FY25 rather than a real business deterioration; core operations remain modestly profitable. QoQ recovery from a loss is mildly positive, though the ~12% drop in top-line revenue is a watch-item for shareholders.
