Akzo Nobel India has received a favorable order from the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Belapur (Maharashtra GST Department) dated 26 December 2025, which was received by the company on 7 January 2026. The order completely drops a tax demand of Rs. 3,94,59,459 (about Rs. 3.95 crore), along with all applicable interest and penalty. The demand originally arose from a show cause notice in October 2025 regarding disallowance of ISD (Input Service Distributor) input tax credit for the period April 2021 to March 2022.
